I’ve always been dismissive of the phrase ‘what’s for you won’t pass you.’ It’s often said as a means of comforting someone when an opportunity doesn’t go their way. I don’t find it particularly comforting. When you consider that some sources estimate over 14 million items of post are lost each year, it’s clear to me what’s for you can definitely pass you. 

That said, there are definitely times of serendipity which seem to ensure something doesn’t pass you. A recent example of this for me was the Croydon exhibition ‘Come As You Really Are’ by Hetain Patel. It’s a wonderful exhibition celebrating hobbyists with a truly eclectic collection of unique and inspiring crafts. I recommend the  exhibition to anyone, particularly those in Croydon.
